Oral ED medication remains the first-line treatment for erectile dysfunction for a reason: it helps a majority of men, it is well studied, and it is easy. Both sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis) belong to the same class, PDE5 inhibitors, and both work by allowing the blood vessels of the penis to stay open once arousal begins.
The difference is timing. Sildenafil is taken on demand, works within thirty to sixty minutes, and lasts four to six hours. Tadalafil lasts up to thirty-six hours and can also be taken as a low daily dose, so spontaneity does not depend on the clock. Which one is right depends on how you live, not on which brand you have heard of.
Getting the medication is the easy part. Getting it right — the correct drug, the correct dose, and a check that it is safe alongside your blood pressure and heart medications — is what a consultation is for. Some men who "failed" ED pills were simply under-dosed or never told how to take them.
At LovMedSpa the evaluation is done in person or by video with our medical team, and the prescription is filled through a licensed pharmacy. If pills alone are not enough, the same providers can layer shockwave therapy, PRP, or Trimix into the plan.
ED medication at LovMedSpa is prescribed only after a review of your medical history and current medications by our Medical Directors — because the wrong combination is a cardiac risk, not a minor detail.
PDE5 inhibitors help many men with ED and have decades of study behind them.
Sildenafil for planned occasions, tadalafil for a longer window or a low daily dose that keeps you ready without planning.
Some treatment failures are dosing failures. Your provider starts at the right strength and adjusts from there.
PDE5 inhibitors interact with nitrates and some blood pressure medications. Your evaluation rules those out before you take a tablet.
If pills are not enough, the same team can add shockwave therapy, PRP, or Trimix without starting over.
